The MidSouth Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church invites you to join us in prayer for the people of Louisville, KY. On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, a plane crashed in Louisville, KY, near the airport. As of the morning of November 5, news media are reporting nine fatalities, 16 people are being reported as missing, and two people are listed in critical condition at a local hospital. Join us as we pray together:

Merciful God,

We come before You in this hour of sorrow, our hearts heavy and our spirits wounded. Our community has been shaken by tragedy, and we struggle to understand the loss before us. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble. Draw near to us now, O God. We lift before You the souls of those who have perished in this terrible accident. Receive them into Your everlasting arms, where there is no more pain, no more fear, and no more sorrow.

Comfort those who mourn — mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, friends and neighbors — who wake today with an ache in their hearts. Surround them with Your peace that passes all understanding.

For those who are injured, we ask for Your healing hand. For those who responded with courage and compassion — first responders, medical teams, and all who came to help — we give You thanks. Strengthen them for the days ahead, and let their service be a witness to Your love.

Lord, in our grief, remind us that You are near to the brokenhearted. Bind us together as a community, that we may carry one another’s burdens and share in one another’s hope. When we do not know what to say, let our presence speak of Your grace. When we cannot see the way forward, shine Your light upon our path. Grant us faith to trust that even in our pain, You are working to bring healing and redemption. Help us to remember that death does not have the final word — for in Christ Jesus, life and love endure forever. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, our Comforter, and our Hope. Amen.

Blessings,

Rev. Todd Chancey
