We are pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. Jason McIntosh, the pastor of Shady Grove Church in Dandridge, TN, has been appointed by Bishop Kenneth Levingston as the Presiding Elder of the Sevierville District for the MidSouth Annual Conference. At his current appointment, Rev. Dr. McIntosh has served as the lead pastor for the past nine years.

Rev. Dr. McIntosh is a two-time graduate from Asbury Theological Seminary. Earning his Master of Divinity in 2000, he later returned as a Beeson Pastor and earned his Doctor of Ministry in 2008. His undergraduate degree is in English and Education from Gardner-Webb University. Having served in churches for 26 years, beginning in 1999, Rev. Dr. McIntosh has been in ministry across Kentucky, Alabama, and Tennessee. This included serving on a large team in a former denomination, called the District Committee on Ordained Ministry, which was responsible for interviewing and guiding candidates through the processes of licensed and ordained ministry. In this same denomination, he was also awarded the Denman Award in Evangelism in 2018 which recognizes exceptional ministry of evangelism as expressed in word, sign, and deed for the aim of drawing people into a transformative life in Jesus.

Rev. Dr. McIntosh is a father of four, with his first granddaughter being born in January of 2025. One of his joys is spending time with his kids, and his other interests include writing, reading, hiking, kayaking, and traveling. As a conference, we were blessed to hear Rev. Dr. McIntosh preach the service message at opening worship of the 2025 MidSouth Annual Conference and know that he will be a great asset to the MidSouth Cabinet as he serves the congregations of Sevierville District located in Tennessee.
