A Prayer for the Convening General Conference of the Global Methodist Church

O Lord, we love because You first loved us. We opened our hearts to your life-changing grace and our lives to your loving presence because You made the first move. Daily we are learning that it is in our life together, in the fellowship of all true believers, the forever community of faith, that we experience the reality of holy love and express the unalloyed joy of belonging to You and one another forever. May we embrace this moment with grateful hearts as we pray for and reach out to our neighbors across our streets and around the world who have not heard the story of Jesus and his love. We pray for ourselves and each other as we encourage each other and continue this journey together, that what we say and how we say it, what we do and how we do it, what we have and how we share it, who we are and how we live always will honor Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of the Father and praise of the Holy Spirit. O Lord, be glorified today in our lives and in these days of holy conferencing for the sake of your Kingdom and all that You love. Amen.
