Certified Lay Minister Course: Preach On: Proclaiming the Word to Preach with an Eye on Jesus

This will be a fun course on Mar. 29, 9-5pm CDT, for those with or without preaching and/or teaching experience, as well as for those that have spoken before a group and would like some pointers. We will spend time on research and development of sermon topic and then look at the process of effectively delivering a meaningful message. There will be some pre-course youtube videos that may help.
CLM Course Credits: The “GMC Theology” class is one of 5 required courses for CLM status. The “Preach on” can be used as a “specialized” course. These courses will also be offered to any layperson in the conference who have had UMC Lay Servant or Lay Speaker classes and want an opportunity to catch the vision, movement, and ways for following Jesus that the GMC is focused upon. Even those who have already become CLMs in the GMC by transfer may want to experience this re-immersion in the particular emphasis and the vision of the GMC.
