by Rev. Dr. Mike Powers • Published Tuesday, January 28, 2025

The MidSouth Annual Conference of the Global Methodist Church is….
- making disciples of Jesus Christ from the nursery roll to the nursing home in 268 churches across Kentucky, West Virginia, middle and east Tennessee, southwest Virginia and northern Georgia;
- spreading scriptural holiness in Sunday Schools and small groups, Vacation
Bible Schools and prayer gatherings, prisons and recovery ministries; - providing relief for victims of natural disasters with unbridled compassion and extravagant generosity;
- supporting local and global missionaries who unashamedly share the Gospel of Jesus Christ around the corner, across the country and to the ends of the earth;
- launching new church plants to reach the unchurched who become disciples who launch new church plants to reach the unchurched to make new disciples, etc.;
- raising up a new generation of Spirit-filled, Spirit-led servant leaders who are
ready and willing and able to create new ministries to reach disciples yet-to-be; - providing a safe place for children and youth to learn the stories of Jesus, enjoy the goodness of God and celebrate life together in the Spirit;
- appointing pastors who are called by God, confirmed by their peers, and
commissioned to preach the Word, teach God’s people faithfully, administer the sacraments, and order the life of the church to be fruitful and faithful; - equipping Certified Lay Ministers to lead, teach, preach, evangelize, worship,
pray and care for all God loves; - a covenant community who visits house to house, shares Holy Communion with the homebound, prepares meals and supports the bereaved;
- a world-changing movement of the Holy Spirit whenever two or three or more gather together to pray;
- ready to take the next step into God’s future as local churches fully supporting the proposed 2025 Budget through Connectional Funding (3.5% – MidSouth
Conference, 1.0% – General Church). - YOU and every follower of Jesus who genuinely believes God’s best is yet to
come.
Ask me, and I will tell you some remarkable secrets about what is going to happen here.
