Greetings MidSouth Annual Conference!

First, let me introduce myself. My name is Liz Chancey, and I am privileged to be the Head of the Delegation to the 2026 General Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa, this August 30 – September 6. It is time to begin the nomination process for the General Church Councils and Committees. Each council and committee consists of half clergy and half laity.

“Each annual conference will submit up to 20 nominees who are Global Methodist Church clergy or lay members in good standing within that annual conference, with at least half being lay. Each nominee should be designed for one or two of the connectional commissions, councils, or committees. Each nominee may submit a brief biography of up to 100 words, which will be printed along with the nominee’s name in any published slate of nominees.”
