Announcement: Tazewell District Presiding Elder
by Rev. Dr. Mike Powers • Published Friday, April 11, 2025
We are pleased to announce that Rev. Devin Schultz, pastor of First Methodist Church in Richlands, Virginia, has been appointed by Bishop Kenneth Levingston as Presiding Elder of the Tazewell District of the MidSouth Annual Conference. Devin succeeds Aubrey Whitlow who needed to resign from this role due to health concerns. We appreciate Aubrey’s witness for Christ and service in the MidSouth Conference and pray for God’s healing and strength.
Devin is a native of Miami, Florida who, after serving in the US Navy, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Adult Education and then a Master of Divinity degree while serving 17 years in the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. After a short hiatus, Devin and his wife, Susie, moved to Richlands where he now serves. Devin and Susie have three awesome kids, Avery, Nikki Witherspoon (Joel) and Noah.
