by Midsouth Conference Staff • Published Wednesday, October 2, 2024

For the benefit of the MidSouth Conference to easily access insurance/benefits information, the following items were collected from The Global Methodist Benefit Bulletin published by GMC Communications. If you have any questions or need to speak to someone on the GMC Benefits Team, please email them at benefits@globalmethodist.org.
Open Enrollment for 2025 Begins Oct. 2: Participating clergy will receive an email from GuideStone inviting them to login to their MyGuideStone account to re-enroll. If you take no action, your 2024 plan choice will roll over to 2025, but we urge you not to rely on that. This is your opportunity to change your plan if it does not meet your needs. You can view available plan choices HERE. DEADLINE to enroll & make changes is November 14, 2024.
On 2025 HSA & FSA Contributions for 2025: If you contribute to a HSA or FSA, those elections will not automatically roll over to 2025. Your local church administrator will need to go into EBC’s online platform and re-enter those contribution amounts. DEADLINE to enter the amounts for 2025 HSA & FSA contributions is Dec. 1, 2024.
No Increase on Health Insurance Premium Rates for 2025: Health Insurance Premium Rates will NOT increase in 2025. Rates for the medical insurance plan on VSP vision plan will not increase from the 2024 rates. There will be a slight increase in the life, disability and AD&D insurance premiums and the dental insurance rates. Rates will be posted soon HERE.
Lay Employee Enrollment: Lay employees who are in the GMC/GuideStone health insurance plan will re-enroll through their local church GuideStone EAP administrator.
The schedule of clergy benefits is as follows:

Participation in GMC/GuideStone Benefits Plan: Eligible GMC clergy appointed to GMC-member churches are expected to participate in the GMC/GuideStone benefits plans or file a waiver with their conference officials and the GMC Benefits Office. The waiver form can be requested for emailing benefits@globalmethodist.org. For health insurance plan in particular, clergy who are eligible but choose not to participate weaken the plan for all. The Open Enrollment period is a great time to join the plan.
2025 GMC/GuideStone Retirement (Pension) Plan Contributions: The contribution formula for 2025 remains the same as in 2024. The details will soon be posted on the GMC Benefits Website. Local church administrators will enter the new amounts into GuideStone’s EAP system. If there are changes to the pastor’s compensation or personal contributions, the church’s contributions will adjust accordingly.
Correction – Church/Pastor Benefits Responsibility Chart: Our CFO/Treasurer, Robert Worthington, has determined that pastors’ personal premium toward supplemental/optional AD&D insurance are exempt from taxation. The updated chart below reflects this change:
